A keeper of delicious secrets. Keep guests guessing what’s in the next box. Could it be something sweet as soft mochis? Maybe as delicate as sliced Hamachi? A mixed array of golden, crispy shrimp tempuras? Or as simple and delicious as rice rolled in savory seaweed strips?
The Ojyu, a traditional stacking box used for the New Year’s celebratory meal in Japan, was crafted using original Japanese Maple wood, and handblown glass reminiscent of clear, moving waters. With Peter Ivy’s signature glasswork touch, the Ojyu’s natural wood along with the water-like glass panes makes you feel one with nature by simply looking at it. A mark of a true master is when his art transports you to another place in your mind, even with a simple item as a stacking box.
Each Ojyu’s box has three different dimensional arrangement, allowing for endless stacking and storing variations. This can also hold your fine kataoka jewelry, sparkling trinkets, and little secrets that you want to keep by your side.
