With the help of FedEx, we are proud to offer worldwide shipping of all kataoka jewelry pieces. Our International Priority shipping ensures fast and efficient delivery, typically arriving within 2 business days. Shipping fees are included in all kataoka orders (excluding repairs, resizings, and Peter Ivy's creations).

Returns

As all kataoka jewelry is handmade to order, all sales are final and no returns or exchanges can be accepted.

Defective or Incorrect Items

In the unlikely event that you receive a defective or incorrect item, please reach out to us within 7 days of delivery date with accompanying photos of the order. We will offer a full refund. Please note that we cannot accept any damaged or altered items, and the customer is responsible for the safe return of the parcel. We cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged shipments.

Do you provide a warranty?
We stand behind everything we make, that is why we offer a Lifetime Limited Warranty on all of our creations.
What is your lead time?
Every piece is handmade to order, and it will take about 4 weeks to be completed. For rush orders, please contact us and we’ll do our very best to oblige!
What quality are kataoka diamonds?
All the diamonds we use for our standard designs are D color, Clarity VS-1, excellent cut minimum. This standard is maintained for diamonds larger than 0.25 ct. If you wish to have higher quality diamonds set on your kataoka treasure, please contact us.
Are your gold and platinum recycled?
Yes! All gold and platinum that are used in kataoka creations are recycled from the advanced Japanese semiconductor industry. Read more about our custom-blended metals here.
Can you use silver in your creations?
Unfortunately, we do not offer silver as a material option as we only use custom-blended gold and platinum in our designs. Our gold and platinum options are ethically sourced, nickel-free, and hypoallergenic, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for our clients..
Where do you source your precious gems?
All of our precious gems are conflict-free and supplied by our long-term trusted partners. Each gemstone is unique, and they all vary slightly in size and color.
Please let us know if you have any special requests regarding the color of the stone. While we cannot guarantee an exact replica of the gemstones shown online, we will do our best to source a gemstone that will make you cherish your kataoka treasure forever!
Where are kataoka creations made?

Can you use lab-grown diamonds in your creations?
At kataoka, we are dedicated to creating unique and exceptional jewelry pieces. Our artist and craftsman, Yoshinobu, works exclusively with gems and materials that resonate with him, allowing him to produce truly one-of-a-kind creations.

As a luxury house, we are committed to using only ethically sourced, untreated, and conflict-free natural stones in our jewelry. While lab-grown diamonds are a popular alternative, we have chosen to maintain our connection to natural stones, as it is a cornerstone of our brand and allows us to preserve the authenticity and uniqueness of our jewelry.
Why do your creations command such a high price point?

Can I purchase a ring without the center stone?
At kataoka, we are dedicated to offering only the finest quality jewelry pieces. Our rings are crafted with exceptional care, featuring ethically sourced diamonds of the highest quality and custom-blended gold and platinum.

We do not offer rings without the center diamond as the diamond is an integral part of the design and overall aesthetic of the piece. Attempting to remove or replace the center diamond by a third-party jewelry workshop would not only damage the setting and compromise the beauty of the piece, but it would also void the lifetime warranty that we offer on all of our creations.

We only use our own ethically sourced premium gemstones in all kataoka creations.

What countries do you ship to?
At kataoka, we are proud to offer worldwide shipping for our handcrafted, exclusive jewelry. Our shipping service is complimentary for all kataoka pieces orders, ensuring that you can receive your masterpiece no matter where you are located. Your package will typically be delivered within 2 business days and will require an adult signature upon receipt, ensuring safe and secure delivery of your work of art.
What is your returns policy?
Every kataoka piece is handmade to order, all sales are final and no returns can be accepted whatsoever.
What can I do if I ordered the wrong ring size?
Don't worry about getting the wrong ring size at kataoka! We offer a free resizing within the first year of purchase for all orders placed directly with us. Just contact our friendly customer service team for help.

For our US customers, we make resizing easy by offering a convenient solution. Simply send your ring to our New York Flagship store, and we'll take care of the rest, including sending it to Japan for resizing and returning it to you in NYC. The only shipping fee you'll pay is within the US.
If you're outside of the US, you'll need to send the ring directly to our workshop in Tokyo, and will be responsible for the shipping fees to and from Japan.

If you placed your order through one of our authorized retailers, there is a $150 fee per resizing. Contact our customer service team for more information.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, JCB, American Express. They are processed on secure servers and no credit card information are stored in our database. Ever.
Do you offer financing options?
As of now, we do not provide any financing options. However, please reach out to us with your inquiry and we will do our best to help you find a solution for your investment in your future kataoka treasures.
Where do your jewelry ship from?
All our jewelry ship from our Atelier in Tokyo, Japan.
Can I track my order?
After we ship your order, we will send you a tracking number by email. You can also see your order status and delivery tracking details under “My Account” after you log in.
Are there any additional costs that will be due upon receipt of my order?
At kataoka, we understand that unexpected fees can be frustrating. That's why we want to make sure you are aware that customs duties may be due upon delivery of your luxury jewelry piece. To get a better idea of what to expect, we recommend checking with your country's customs agency for the most accurate information on duties and taxes.
How do I cancel or change an order?
At kataoka, we take pride in handcrafting each piece of jewelry to your specifications. That's why we ask that you contact us within 24 hours of placing your order if you need to make any changes or cancellations. Unfortunately, once production has begun, we cannot accept any cancellations or modifications.
Do you provide appraisals?
We can provide an invoice that documents your investment for your kataoka jewel(s) with all the specifics, for insurance purposes. Please note that an appraisal can only come from a third-party, certified appraiser to avoid any conflicts of interest.

(3) If Kataoka determines that its content has been duplicated or altered without permission, or that any actions violating copyright law have taken place, Kataoka may take legal action to protect its rights.

Kataoka reserves the right to take appropriate action, including termination of service and legal action, against users who violate copyright law, which may result in legal consequences.

If a User violates the Terms of Use or causes losses or damages to Kataoka through the use of its services, the User must indemnify Kataoka for all resulting losses, damages, and reasonable legal fees.

  • (i) Difficulty with delivery, such as an unidentifiable shipping address.
  • (ii) System failures that prevent the placement of an order, ordering of incorrect Merchandise, or acceptance of excessive orders.
  • (iii) Any other events that prevent delivery of Merchandise.

(5) Kataoka will not be held accountable for any losses or damages suffered by users of the site, directly or indirectly, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or any other indirect or consequential losses, regardless of the cause or circumstances.
(6) Kataoka will not be responsible for indirect losses or damages caused by its negligence or gross negligence, even if it applies to the fullest extent allowed by law and does not cover indirect losses or damages listed in (5).
(7) Kataoka is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
(8) Offers to purchase made by minors will be considered made under the guardians' responsibility.

11. Registered User Account
(1) Users of the Services can create an account (herein referred to as "Account") as a registered user.
(2) It is advised that Users do not share their Account information with any third party.
(3) Users are fully responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their Account and all actions performed using the Account. Users must promptly notify Kataoka of any security concerns regarding their Account.
(4) Kataoka will not be responsible for any damages resulting from unauthorized use of a User's Account.
(5) Users who register an Account to use the Services must provide accurate and complete Registration Information and agree to keep it updated.
(6) To delete their Account, users must send an email with their name, address, and phone number to info@kataoka-jewelry.com.
12. Termination of Services or Account
(1) Termination by User:
A user may choose to terminate their account at any time by sending a written request to the site's customer support team. Upon receipt of the request, the site will confirm the termination and delete the user's account within a reasonable timeframe.
(2) Termination by Site:
The site reserves the right to terminate a user's access to the site at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to:
  • a. Violation of the site's terms of use or any applicable laws or regulations
  • b. Inactivity for an extended period of time
  • c. Engagement in any illegal or fraudulent activities
  • d. Any other reasons deemed appropriate by the site

(3) Effect of Termination:
Upon termination, the user's account will be deleted and the user will no longer have access to the site's services. The user may not be entitled to a refund of any fees or charges paid to the site, and any outstanding obligations to the site will remain in effect. The user may also be subject to legal liability for any damages caused to the site or other users as a result of their activities on the site.
13. Merchandise Purchase
(1) Users of the Site may purchase Merchandise or services from Kataoka.
(2) To purchase Merchandise, Users must follow the ordering process set forth by Kataoka through the use of the Services.
(3) Upon receiving an order, Kataoka will send an Order Confirmation email with the order details and confirmation. A purchase agreement between the User and Kataoka will be established regarding the order and its contents.
(4) Once a purchase agreement has been established, changes or cancellations to the order or its terms and conditions cannot be made.
(5) If a User engages in misconduct or inappropriate behavior related to the use of the Services, Kataoka reserves the right to cancel the purchase agreement and take other appropriate action.
14. Merchandise Shipping
(1) Delivery of Merchandise is available worldwide through our shipping partners.
(2) Orders will be dispatched from Japan or the United States.
(3) Orders will be shipped by air carrier, unless specified otherwise by Kataoka prior to shipping. The User will receive shipment notification through an AirWayBill, which serves as proof of shipment. Kataoka is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of the Order after it has been released to the shipping company or carrier. Kataoka's responsibility is limited to delivering the Order to the carrier, after which the Order becomes the property of the User. Kataoka is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred during shipment after the Order has left Kataoka's facilities.
15. Shipping Costs, Service Fees, and Import Duties and Taxes
Kataoka will cover all shipping costs for the delivery of Merchandise except for repairs, resizing, and merchandise produced by a third party and sold by Kataoka. Any import duties, customs fees, and taxes incurred during shipment will be the responsibility of the customer.
16. Merchandise Payment
(1) The total payment for Merchandise will include the purchase price, any applicable sales tax, shipping costs, and any other service fees.
(2) Payments for Merchandise purchased through the Service can be made with a credit card [VISA, MASTERCARD, JCB, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DISCOVER] belonging to the purchaser or through the purchaser's PAYPAL account.
(3) Kataoka reserves the right to seek pre-approval for payment made by credit card, limited to the order total, prior to shipment. Payment will be charged before the order is dispatched.
(4) If payment is made by credit card or PAYPAL, the purchaser must abide by the terms and conditions of their separate agreement with the credit card company or PAYPAL. Any disputes or conflicts between the purchaser and the credit card company or third parties are the responsibility of the purchaser to resolve, and Kataoka will not be held responsible for such disputes or conflicts.
17. Return Policy
(1) Kataoka does not accept returns or exchanges of Merchandise, except in the case of damaged, defective, or incorrect product received at the time of delivery. The purchaser must contact Kataoka within 7 days of receipt by sending an email with the order confirmation number. This is the only way an exchange will be accepted. If an exchange is not possible, a return will be accepted and a refund will be issued.
(2) For a return or exchange to be accepted, the following conditions must be met: (I.) The Merchandise must be unused, with tags intact. (II.) All components, attachments, and delivery confirmation must be returned in the same condition as at the time of delivery. (III.) Any other requirements specified by Kataoka must be met.
18. Disclaimer of Warranties and Representations
Kataoka makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the site or the information, content, materials, or products included on the site. The site and all its content is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Kataoka does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free and Kataoka will not be liable for any interruptions or errors. Use of the site and its content is at your own risk.
19. Miscellaneous
(1) Communication between Kataoka and the User regarding the use of the Service will primarily be via email.
(2) Messages from Kataoka may not be properly displayed on email addresses registered to mobile phones.
(3) In the case of disputes or interpretive questions regarding the Terms of Use, Kataoka and the User will consult in good faith to reach a resolution.
(4) If a resolution cannot be reached through consultation, any disputes relating to the Terms of Use and/or Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Supreme Court in Tokyo, Japan.
